Krauss Maffei of Munich Germany, a world leader in plastics machinery has
developed the MX Injection Moulding Machine range from 800 to 5,400
tonnes clamping force, making it the ideal solution for companies that
need to process very large components.
The Hofmann Innovation Group in Lichtenfel, Germany with operations in 5
countries are a ‘full-service’ engineering supplier to the plastics
industry, from prototypes through to production moulds, and operate a
number of injection moulding machines for sampling purposes and small
production runs.
They have recently added a Krauss Maffei MX 1600-8100/3000 W, two
component Spin Form machine to their manufacturing plant. With a clamping
force of 1,600 tonnes, this spin-platen machine can handle shot weights
of around 4,900 grams plus 1,800 grams PS – enough for large 2-component
parts for the automotive sector, such as glazing parts or panorama roofs.
Hofmann’s new purchase means that they no longer need to transport large
moulds over long distances every time samples are required. This saves
time and money during the mould optimisation process. Krauss Maffei
continually work with their customers to develop machines and process
technology that will assist in their production requirements.
Krauss Maffei is represented in Oceania by HBM Plastics Technologies.
