Intertronics are pleased to announce a new era in low temperature
conformal coating repair, peelable masking, and wire-tacking electronic
materials - now made easier and quicker with the new DYMAX BlueWave® LED
visible light, high-intensity spot-curing system. This low temperature
spot curing system works in seconds and promises to significantly shorten
process times in production and rework, by virtue of its speed of
operation, as well as reduced calibration/ maintenance time compared to
conventional equipment.
The BlueWave LED offers cooler cures than traditional UV systems, has no
bulbs to change, no warm-up, and produces a constant light intensity for
thousands of hours. This spot-curing system works using an array of
surface-mount LEDs (Light Emitting Diodes) instead of traditional metal
halide or mercury bulbs. The LEDs produce visible light energy in a
relatively narrow wave-band centered at 410 nm, as contrasted to a
typical broad-band, high-pressure UV bulb (300-500 nm). This system
emits a maximum visible light intensity output of over 2,500 mW/cm2 from
an 8 mm diameter lightguide, and allows users to adjust intensity output
from 0% to 100%.
Intertronics offer a broad range of one-part, solvent-free electronic
materials which cure in seconds upon exposure to UV/visible light. They
do not emit HAPs (hazardous air pollutants) or VOCs (volatile organic
compounds) upon cure and are suited to a wide variety of applications for
circuit protection and electronic assembly since they are both
electrically insulating and designed for various operations including
conformal coating, encapsulation, bonding, thermal management, and
masking. IPC approved, MIL-I-46058C and UL listed self-extinguishing
grades are also available. Most products are available in multiple-
viscosity grades, so material flow may be tailored to the individual
application. Further information regarding Intertronics’ products can be
