Mechanical Fasteners to the fore at Fastening Solutions Exhibition - October

Mechanical Fasteners are probably the oldest definable engineering
system – but we have come a long way from using strips of bark or animal
intestines to rope together our huts and boats however appropriate that
might be! Human ingenuity continues to thrive and create brilliant new
solutions to problems of locating and holding components/assemblies or
structures. This varies from the continually re-invented screw or rivet
through sophisticated removable fastening systems. The October Fastening
Solutions Exhibition hosted at the National Motorcycle Museum is expected
to see the very best of recent developments in this area, while enabling
visitors to soak up the atmosphere of enthusiasm and dedicated
engineering expertise exemplified by the Motorcycle Museum exhibits.

Mark Newby, M.D. of organisers Newbycom, opined “mechanical fasteners are
fundamental to the very core of manufacturing industry and we are
delighted to be in a position to enable our exhibitors to demonstrate so
many cost saving product solutions and hopefully play a major part in
revitalising our British manufacturing industry.”

Exhibitors are expected to include Avdel Global: www.avdel-global.com
with breakstem rivets, lock bolts, speed fasteners, threaded inserts,
sealing plugs and self-piercing rivets; as well as Henrob Ltd
www.henrob.co.uk focusing on their self-piercing riveting systems.

Elsewhere Gesipa Blind Riveting Systems: www.gesipa.co.uk are expected to
demonstrate advanced standard blind rivets while being available to
discuss bespoke designs.

Tox Pressotechnik Ltd www.tox-uk.com specialise in Pneumo Hydraulic Power
packages and TOX joining systems, providing an excellent opportunity for
visitors to explore suitability and cost savings in their own production
environment.

The people at Bollhoff Fastenings www.bollhoff.com will again be
delighted to explain their HeliCoil® inserts, taps and tools, as well as
threaded and non-threaded cold joining systems.

EJOT Ltd: www.ejot.co.uk have really caught the essence of our times with
a dedication to cost-reduction through intelligent purchase across a vast
range of fastening solutions. This cost saving theme is upheld by Profil
GmbH & Co: www.profil-verbindungstechnik.de whose pierce nut and stud
systems are said to demonstrate savings of at least 30% over equivalent
welded processes.

At Fastening & Assembly Solutions Exhibition cost saving is never more
than a conversation away and this is ever true with the “in-press”
technology demonstrated by BAS Components: www.bas-components.com of high
performance threaded and non-threaded nuts and studs.

The Fastening & Assembly Solutions Exhibition takes place at the National
Motorcycle Museum on October 29th 2009. The venue is adjacent to the NEC
and offers plenty of free parking right outside the main entrance. VIP
Visitors to the show (i.e. currently employed manufacturing
professionals) who pre-register in advance have the added advantage of a
free Luncheon Voucher, and all visitors also receive a free museum pass
(otherwise costing £6.95). Pre-registration may be done at www.fastening-
solutions-exhibition.co.uk.
