Dateline: Wednesday 30th April 2008 – Venue: The Royal Air Force Museum,
Cosford (near Wolverhampton) – The Mission: to provide new fastening
solutions to the UK’s engineering and manufacturing community.
The Fastening & Assembly Solutions Exhibition is now recognised as the
show that matters for engineers seeking to solve design, production and
installation problems involving fastening and assembly.
Only here will you see showcased so many of the latest advances in
fastening and assembly products, methods, technology and application
practices. Entry to the exhibition is free, and visitors who pre-register
in advance for a VIP badge have the advantage of some very special VIP
privileges too! Included amongst these are a complimentary luncheon.
Here, by embracing all the latest fastener, fastening and assembly
developments, design engineers will discover new ways of improving
projects and products: production professionals will find quicker and
more efficient methods of putting things together: and company bosses
involved in manufacturing can see how to effect immediate cost-down
opportunities.
Pre-registered VIP’s (subject to numbers) are eligible for: free parking,
free exhibition entry, free tea and coffee, free complimentary luncheon,
free museum entry. A package we are sure will enable visitors to “just
get on with finding solutions”.
Recently awarded the prestigious ‘Large Visitor Attraction of the Year
2007’, the RAF Museum Cosford is surely a ‘must-see’ on the list of every
engineer. More than 70 historic aircraft are on display, spanning 80
years of Royal Air Force heritage and history.
From the early ‘string and canvas’ scouts through TSR 2 and onwards, some
of the finest examples of aeroplane design and British aviation
innovation may be seen here. The newly opened Cold War Museum alone is
worth the journey, featuring all three British V-bombers and a variety of
other fantastic machines.
The Mach 2 Lightning, the high-flying Canberra, the delta-winged Javelin
and the Short Belfast (rather unfairly nicknamed the ‘Dragmaster’ by
pilots at the time thanks to early challenges with the rear loading ramp)
are amongst many more machines in the outstanding new 8,000sq/m Cold War
hangar.
